Greetings from Punjab Engineering College Old Student Association (PECOSA)!

Based on the on-going processes, nominations end date has been extended till Up to Sunday 27th Oct 2024 at 5:00 PM IST. Hence, below shall be the revised election process and timelines.

Process for Physical nomination:

For Nomination Process, the form attached with this email titled as “NOMINATION FOR THE PECOSA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR SESSION 2024-2026” must be used. Completed nomination form including Second & Consent section must reach (physically or via Email) to the Returning Officer latest by 5:00 PM on Sunday 27^th Oct 2024.

In case of withdrawal, the form titled as “WITHDRAWAL OF NOMINATION FROM ELECTIONS TO THE PECOSA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR SESSION 2024-2026” must be used & sent to RO.

The complete scan copy of physical nomination forms must be sent by email to pecosaelections@gmail.com. It is not mandatory to send physical forms if already shared on the above email. Nominations received physically shall also be available on the Election portal and list shall be shared on http://pecosa.in and https://alumni.pec.ac.in for any objections.

Process for Online Nomination: For Nominations, Seconding & Withdrawal Process

1. Visit https://alumni.pec.ac.in

2. Log in to your Alumni account

3. Click Nomination/Evoting tab

To use this portal, you must complete both steps given below

1. Register on PEC portal https://alumni.pec.ac.in
2. Register on PECOSA EVoting registration portal at https://alumni.pec.ac.in/addon/1246

Only after registering on both above links, you shall be able to log in the Election portal and online E Voting.

General guidelines to be followed:

1. A member can either propose or second upto 6 candidates for EC position (one each in Category 1 to 6 above). In case an alumni nominates or seconds more than 7 members for EC, all such nominations will stand cancelled.
2. An Alumni may send single or multiple nominations through single mail to RO or use Election Portal.
3. Online Nomination, Seconding & Elections & Evoting will be held online on https://alumni.pec.ac.in under PECOSA Elections 2024. Only registered and approved voter users shall be allowed to vote
4. You can self Nominate as well.
5. Offline Elections shall be held in Auditorium, PEC, Chandigarh
6. Election results, based on the rule of simple majority, will be announced.
7. In case of a tie, the winner will be selected on the basis of seniority (seniority is defined by the year of obtaining first degree from PEC) among tied candidates. In case of a tie based on these criteria also, the decision will be taken through the toss of a coin in the presence of the candidates who may wish to be present at the scheduled time. The decision of the RO shall be final and binding.
