I am very sorry to just learn that my friend Vice Admiral Rajeshwar Nath left for his heavenly abode on May 18, 2025. May God grant his soul peace and give his wife Krishna and his family the strength to bear this terrible loss.

I have so many happy memories from our time together as friends since 1950: Playing together as neighbors in a sparsely populated area;  Walking together for many years to school every day, including trying to walk on the railway tracks on the way;  Getting invited by him to join him to go to his brother's wedding at the last moment; Being my roommate for the first 2 weeks at PEC until his parents moved to Chandigarh (putting me in the luxurious position of having the room by myself for the rest of the year); amazingly running into each other at Heathrow airport at London in 1964 as he had just arrived there to go to Royal Naval Engineering College and I was on my way to USA; and Giving me a grand tour of London when I visited him 3 years later in 1967

Then unfortunately, both of us suddenly lost touch with each other in 1969, because of his moving back to India and I moving from Boston area to Seattle, making our addresses obsolete.

Fortunately, with the new internet technology, we were able to connect with each other in 2016. Interestingly, the first sentence in his first email was: “I have been talking to my wife about you for last two months. I am glad we are now in touch.” What a sweet thing to say!

Picking up our friendship, it was so wonderful to visit his beautiful house in Noida in 2016 and then later have a very enjoyable lunch together in October 2018, when my wife Ellen and I visited New Delhi.

Will miss Rajeshwar!
