LUMIERE 2026, the three-day filmmaking festival organised by the Projection and Design Club (PDC) at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, continued with an engaging lineup of activities on Day 2 and concluded successfully on April 12, 2026.

Day 2, held on April 11, 2026, featured a dynamic blend of workshops, film screenings, and interactive sessions. A workshop titled “The Experimental Art of Observing” was conducted by Mr. Harman Saini and Mr. Aakash Chauhan, offering participants valuable insights into creative observation, visual storytelling, and the fundamentals of cinematic expression.

The day also included screening sessions under Northern Ray and Prism. Northern Ray, with a focus on regional cinema, particularly Punjab, showcased narrative short films ranging from 5 to 20 minutes, highlighting culturally rooted storytelling. The segment was evaluated by Mr. Amanjot Singh and Mr. Ranjit Randhawa. Prism, the national student film competition, presented a diverse selection of films by emerging filmmakers from across the country. The evening segment at the Open Air Theatre (OAT) featured interactive activities such as open mic and face painting, providing a platform for students to express their creativity.

Day 3, conducted on April 12, 2026, marked the culmination of the festival. The day began with a photo walk across the campus, allowing participants to explore creative perspectives and capture compelling visual narratives.

Screening sessions under Vérité and Lumiere Sprint were key highlights of the final day. Vérité focused on documentary and social impact films, showcasing powerful non-fiction storytelling. Lumiere Sprint, the 48-hour filmmaking challenge, featured films created within a limited timeframe, reflecting the creativity and technical skills of the participants. This segment was evaluated by Mr. Shubham Sharma and Mr. Manjeet Sannan.

The concluding ceremony included the welcoming of dignitaries, introduction of judges, and felicitation of guests, followed by an award ceremony recognising outstanding performances across various categories.

The festival concluded with a formal vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of LUMIERE 2026, which witnessed enthusiastic participation and celebrated the spirit of cinema and creativity among students.
