The Career Development and Guidance Centre (CDGC) of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, successfully organised UDAAN – A Higher Education Initiative 2026 on 15th April, 2026. The event was designed to provide comprehensive insights into career pathways, higher education opportunities, and the challenges students face while navigating the professional world.
The programme was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. J.D. Sharma, Head, CDGC; Mr. Sahil Arora, Co-Founder, Quantifiers CAT Academy; Dr. Jaskirat Kaur; Dr. Ankit Yadav; along with several faculty members.
The event commenced with an address by Prof. J.D. Sharma, who highlighted the importance of higher education in today’s competitive landscape. He elaborated on the diverse opportunities and challenges associated with advanced academic pursuits and encouraged students to dream big while maintaining discipline and focus in their journey. He also spoke about the expanding scope of higher education across industries and its role in shaping future professionals.
The first session was delivered by Mr. Sahil Arora, a CAT 2014 Topper and Co-Founder of Quantifiers CAT Academy, who shared valuable insights on transitioning from B.Tech to MBA. Drawing from his personal experiences, he guided students on planning their career trajectories, preparing for competitive examinations, and overcoming challenges in securing admission to premier management institutes.
The second session was conducted by Mr. Gurvinder Singh, Director, YourPedia Education, who provided an engaging overview of the GATE examination. He explained its significance, preparation strategies, and the wide range of opportunities it offers in both higher education and technical careers.
This was followed by a session titled “Future Proof Your Career” by Mr. Hardeep Singh from CANAM, where he emphasised the importance of global exposure and informed decision-making in shaping a successful career.
The final session, conducted by the team from IDP, focused on scholarship opportunities and international education pathways. The session was led by Mr. Harpreet Singh Pahwa as the speaker, with team members Mr. Nakul Bhatnagar, and Ms. Amandeep Kaur, who provided students with detailed guidance on studying abroad, available scholarships, and application processes.
The event proved to be highly informative and impactful, equipping students with valuable knowledge, practical insights, and mentorship to make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
