Er. Ashwani Kundal Makes History as First “Son of the Soil” to Represent India at ASCE in the USA

Chandigarh, India — Er. Ashwani Kundal, a young and accomplished civil engineering professional from Jammu & Kashmir, has created history by becoming the first “Son of the Soil” from the region to represent India in the United States of America at the prestigious American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Washington.

In a significant achievement for both the region and the nation, Mr. Kundal currently serves as the Treasurer of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) – India Section, strengthening India’s global engineering presence. He also holds key positions as Executive Member, Central Body – PEC Old Students Association (PECOSA), Chandigarh, Executive Member, Indian Society of Earthquake Technology (ISET), IIT Roorkee, and Treasurer, Jammu & Kashmir Dogra Sabha, Chandigarh, reflecting his leadership in professional, academic, and social spheres. Recently, he proudly represented India at the first-ever Workshop on Terrestrial Analogues for Space Missions, jointly organized by ISRO and NASA, managed by Protoplanet, and hosted for the first time in India, with participation from top scientists and space experts from nine countries.

Beyond his professional and international accomplishments, Mr. Kundal is deeply committed to social & humanitarian service, regularly assisting patients from Jammu & Kashmir traveling to Chandigarh and neighboring regions for medical treatment, a commitment that has earned him immense respect and gratitude. His inspiring journey stands as a testament to leadership, dedication, and service, bringing pride to Jammu & Kashmir and setting a powerful example for young professionals across India.
