Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh proudly celebrates a moment of immense pride as its distinguished alumnus, Er. Jitendra Singh (Batch of 1997), delivered the opening address representing India at the prestigious Space Congress held in France, alongside renowned NASA astronauts.
Er. Jitendra Singh was honoured on behalf of India for his association with the nation’s ambitious Human Spaceflight Programme, *Gaganyaan*, at the iconic Cannes Film Festival Auditorium. During the citation, it was mentioned that he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh—an institution that is also the alma mater of the late NASA astronaut, Dr. Kalpana Chawla.
Adding to the celebratory moment, Er. Manish Gupta, President along with PECOSA EC congratulates his 1997 batchmate, Er. Jitendra Singh, for delivering an opening address for India, at Space Congress in France alongwith NASA Astronauts.
He was honoured on behalf of India towards our ambitions for the Human Spaceflight Gaganyaan Program at the same Cannes Film Festival Auditorium.
The citation announced "He graduated in Bachelors (with honors) in Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, India which is also the college where NASA Astronaut Late Kalpana Chawla graduated from..." filled every PECosians across globe with immense pride and happiness.
This recognition has filled the entire PEC fraternity across the world with immense pride and joy, reaffirming the institute’s legacy of excellence and its continued contribution to the field of science and technology.
