Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, today organised a thought-provoking session titled “Questions that Matter: Insights for Thoughtful and Inquisitive Minds”, conducted by monks from the Aranya Sanghrana Buddhist Monastery. The session was graced by two senior monks, Venerable Tissaro and Venerable Mahapanyo, in the presence of Dean Student Affairs, Dr. D.R. Prajapati, and Dr. Deepak Kumar Sharma.
The programme commenced with a serene meditation session, allowing participants to centre themselves and engage mindfully. This was followed by a reflective activity centred around the question, “What does success mean to you?” Participants were invited to anonymously pen down their thoughts, which later became the foundation for an engaging and insightful dialogue led by the monks. Drawing upon these responses, Venerable Tissaro and Venerable Mahapanyo facilitated a deeply introspective discussion, encouraging attendees to explore diverse perspectives on success, purpose, and inner fulfilment.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students, who appreciated the opportunity to pause, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation beyond conventional academic discourse. The initiative served as a reminder of the importance of mindfulness and self-inquiry in today’s fast-paced world.
