Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm on 29th August 2025, commemorating the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand. The celebrations were organized under the aegis of the Office of Dean Students Affairs, Dr. D.R. Prajapati (DSA), as part of the FIT INDIA Week 2025, scheduled from 29th to 31st August 2025.
The program began with a FIT India Oath-Taking Ceremony, where students and faculty pledged to prioritize fitness, healthy living, and active lifestyles. This was followed by engaging activities such as Table Tennis, Badminton, and Yoga sessions, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sandeep Harit (ADSA Sports). Students participated with zeal, reflecting PEC’s commitment to fostering both physical and mental well-being.
The celebrations will continue over the next two days with a spirited line-up of competitions, including Badminton Singles (Men & Women), 100m Sprint (Men & Women), Bench Press Open, Deadlift Open, 4x100m Mixed Relay, Basketball 3x3, Arm Wrestling Open, and Table Tennis Singles (Men & Women). These events aim to nurture sportsmanship, teamwork, and the holistic growth of PEC students.
