The final day of the Industry–Academia Expert Lecture Week at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, concluded with a series of impactful sessions focusing on creativity, energy transition, and advancements in aerospace and defense

.

The day began with a lecture on Creativity, organized by the Department of Production and Industrial Engineering and delivered by Dr. Dharinder Tayal, Director, Anovus Clinical Research, Chandigarh. Dr. Tayal explained the essence of the thinking process, the creative thinking process, and SWOT analysis, while stressing the larger role of creativity in driving innovation across disciplines.

This was followed by a session hosted by the Electrical Engineering Department on “Let’s Talk on Energy Transition and Role of Renewables”, delivered by Mr. Ashish Jain, Executive Director, ONGC. He discussed pressing environmental and social concerns and explained why energy transition has become essential in today’s world. Highlighting that energy consumption is directly proportional to standards of living, he elaborated on the current energy landscape and urged students to envision a sustainable future powered by renewables.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering concluded the week with a series of enriching talks by eminent experts. Dr. S. C. Sharma, Former Scientist, ISRO, traced the evolution of aircraft technologies in the 20th century, inspiring students to link past innovations with future advancements. Mr. Deepak Lekhi, Scientist-F, RCMA–CEMILAC, DRDO, motivated students to transform their passion into profession by sharing his journey across aerospace organizations. Mr. Vikrant Satya, Former Scientist & Project Director, DRDO, and alumnus of PEC, emphasized the significance of indigenization and self-reliance in achieving Atmanirbhar Bharat in aerospace and defence.

The Industry–Academia Expert Lecture Week, inaugurated on 15th September, 2025, came to a successful close on 19th September, 2025, leaving participants inspired, motivated, and better connected with real-world professional insights.
