The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organized a special event to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The highlight of the programme was an enlightening and interactive session by Brahma Kumari (BK) Preeti Didi, a senior Rajyoga Teacher, who shared the deeper spiritual significance of the festival.
The event was graced by Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Director, PEC, and Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Head, Department of Aerospace Engineering, along with faculty members, staff, and students.
Initially, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia emphasized the transformative power of meditation in daily life—shifting one’s mindset from negativity to positivity and fostering clarity, calmness, and emotional balance.
BK Preeti Didi then spoke about the true essence of Raksha Bandhan, defining it as a celebration of self-protection rooted in both historical and spiritual traditions. She described it as a festival of national integrity and brotherhood, underscoring the need to strengthen human bonds through peace, love, and understanding. Through an engaging interaction with the audience, she encouraged letting go of acquired labels and identities, posing the profound question—“Who am I?”
She also introduced the concept of GPS PASS—Gyaan (Knowledge), Pavitarta (Purity), Shanti (Peace), Prem (Love), Anand (Bliss), Sukh (Happiness), and Shakti (Strength)—as guiding values for leading a conscious and fulfilling life. The session concluded with powerful affirmations aimed at promoting inner strength and harmony.
In the spirit of the festival, BK Preeti Didi tied a rakhi on the wrist of the Director and subsequently for all members of the audience, creating a warm and unifying moment. The programme concluded on a deeply positive note, leaving participants inspired to carry forward the message of peace, unity, and self-realization in their daily lives.
