Har Amrit Singh Sandhu of PEC (Punjab Engineering College) by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE):

• Dr. Har Amrit Singh Sandhu, a faculty member of the Civil Engineering Department at PEC and current President of the ASCE India Section, has been selected as one of 10 recipients of the prestigious Distinguished Service Medal from the ASCE Region.
• He is being honored for his significant contributions to advancing the ASCE mission, elevating the civil engineering profession, and engaging young people in the field.

• Over 2,000 Civil Engineers to Attend Worldwide

This distinguished international service award will be presented to Dr. Sandhu at the Global Reception of the ASCE 2025 Convention in Seattle (America) in October 2025, where over 2,000 civil engineers from around the world are expected to participate. Prominent engineering personalities from across the globe, including ASCE President Feniosky Peña-Mora, President-Elect Marsha, and Executive Director Thomas Smith, will be present at this grand ceremony

• Head of Department Extends Congratulations

1. Prof. S.K. Singh, Head of the Civil Engineering Department at PEC, congratulated Dr. Sandhu on this achievement, stating that this honor not only reflects Dr. Sandhu's excellence and commitment but also highlights PEC's vision of promoting leadership, innovation, and global partnership in technical education.
2. He laid the foundation of the ASCE PEC Chandigarh Student Chapter in 2014. He also received the ASCE Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award in 2016 and 2020. Under his leadership, a successful international ASCE conference on Sustainability was organized in Chandigarh, which strengthened PEC's global identity. He also contributed to the Digital India campaign. In the 2018 session, he was honored with a Commendation Certificate by the U.T. Administration on Republic Day.

• Dr. Sandhu's achievements include establishing the ASCE PEC Chandigarh Student Chapter in 2014 and receiving the ASCE Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award in 2016 and 2020. He also led the successful international ASCE conference on sustainability in Chandigarh, enhancing PEC's global reputation.
