We look forward to bringing the Alumni community of Punjab Engineering College in Bay Area together through these events, so all can relive memories as well as expand our personal and professional networks.
In this spirit, we have organized a series of webinars where Distinguished PEC Alumni will share their life journey, career experiences, secrets of success, and also answer questions. These webinars are free for any PEC alumni or current students to attend.
PEC Super Achiever: Steve Sanghi (Electronics & Communications - 1975):
Steve Sanghi led Microchip Technology from 1990 until March 2021 and was one of the longest-serving CEOs of a semiconductor company. Mr. Sanghi relinquished his CEO role in 2021 and became Executive Chairman. Today, under Sanghi’s continued leadership, Microchip’s revenue is at an $8 billion run rate, and the company has experienced 129 consecutive profitable quarters. During his tenure, Microchip's market capitalization grew from $85 million at IPO to $43 billion.
In December 2022, Global Semiconductor Alliance honored Mr. Sanghi with the Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award, the global semiconductor industry’s highest honor.

Rakesh is owner of Bed & Breakfast in California but lives in Canada. He is a retired Colonel from India Army and has put his hands in many businesses. He is citizen of New Zealand, Canada, and USA, and a good friend of Steve Sanghi.
