In the next edition of the PEC Alumni Webinar Series, next up we have Alum Rakesh Sharma with us. He completed his Mechanical Engineering in 1973 and Masters in Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai in 1984. He is currently working as the Director- in charge of AMCL Machinery Ltd, an Engineering and Projects Company.

He has vast working experience with top Indian companies like TATA Steel, ACC Ltd, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan National Glass & Industries in various capacities ranging from O&M, Design, Projects, Business Development, Strategic Management and Board positions. His association with Larsen & Toubro has been the longest for nearly two decades covering Projects relating to Cement & Alumina and Thermal Power Development Business.

He will be presenting on the topic “Large Scale Projects - Business Development and Projects Management”. He believes that India is going to be a 5 Trillion Economy in next 4-5 years and focus areas will shift to large scale Infra and Industrial Projects like roads, railways, airports, power plants and steel plants, space programs, defence projects, clean environment projects, etc. To make the session interesting, he will be taking up a case study on 1400 MW Rajpura Thermal Power Project and a second case study relating to a Cement Project in Bangladesh to give insights into the activities involved in Project Management.
