PEC Alumni Webinar Series (PWS): “Additive Manufacturing from Prototyping to Functional Components” by Alum Vijay Kumar Meena. Friday, 10th  July; 15:00 IST + UTC 5.30

Moving forward with the PEC Alumni Webinar Series, next up we have Alum Vijay Kumar Meena. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Production Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in 2003 and Masters of Technology in Manufacturing Management from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani in 2015. He is currently working as a Principal Scientist at Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIR) and an Associate Professor at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR).  

He has contributed a lot in the field of research at CSIR since 2004 and shares vast experience and knowledge in Designing and Manufacturing. His research interests include Orthopaedic/ Maxillofacial Implant Designs, Metal 3D Printing and Metal Foam Development. He has also passed on the Technology of 3D printed Patient Specific Implants to the industry. 
He was awarded the Scotch Award of Merit in 2017 and he takes pride in designing several Patient Specific Implants (PSI) which were successfully implanted in the patients who are now leading a healthy life.

He will be presenting on the topic “Additive Manufacturing from Prototyping to Functional Components” through which he aims to inform us of the process of additive manufacturing, its industrial applications and the scope of research and development.
