Establishing "Smt. Krishna Devi Sharma & Sh. Dharam Chand Sharma Scholarships:: Empowering Future Engineers at PEC

On July 3, 2024, PEC (Punjab Engineering College) formalized a significant partnership with Dr. Umesh Sharma, Professor of Civil Engineering and esteemed alumnus from the 1986 batch, and his son Mr. Pulkit Sharma, an alumnus from the 2017 batch in E&EC. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes scholarships in memory of Dr. Sharma's parents/grandparents, late Sh. Dharam Chand Sharma and (Late) Smt. Krishna Devi Sharma.

Under the terms of the MoU, Prof. Umesh Sharma has committed to donating Rs. 1,00,000/- annually for four years to support economically underprivileged students at PEC. The signing ceremony, attended by Prof. Rajesh Bhatia, Director (ad-interim) of PEC, and Dr. Rajesh Kanda, Head of Alumni, Corporate & International Relations, marked a historic moment. Witnessed by Dr. Jimmy Karloopia, Prof-in-charge (ACIR), and Ms. Rajinder Kaur, Alumni Relations Manager, this event signifies PEC's steadfast commitment to supporting deserving students.

These scholarships will annually benefit students throughout their undergraduate studies at PEC, embodying Prof. Umesh Sharma's generosity and PEC's dedication to academic excellence and community support. This initiative underscores the enduring legacy of PEC's alumni in fostering educational opportunities for future generations.
