Er Jamit Singh, February 13, 1937 - February 25th, 2021, Mohali, PEC/Civil/1963

With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform you of the demise of Er Jamit Singh on February 25th, 2021.

He worked as guest lecturer in Punjab Engineering College from year 1963-64. Er Jamit Singh then joined Irrigation Department Punjab as Sub Divisional Engineer in the year 1965. Got promoted as Executive Engineer Irrigation Department Punjab in year 1975. He served as Executive Engineer in Bhakra Beas Management Board for 6 years. He attended a 15-day training at Tbilisi, Russia in 1977. Er Jamit attended International Regional Training Seminar on Snow, Ice, and Avalanches in March 1978 at Manali, Himachal Pradesh. He was guide to Er. Gurpreet Singh for submitting his thesis on Construction of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Upgradation of NH-44 to Mehdoodan focal point via Jaspalon Khanna, Ludhiana. He was promoted as Superintendent Engineer Irrigation Department Punjab in year 1981. He was granted fellowship to the Institution of Engineers (India) on 3rd January 1983. Er Jamit Singh retired from Irrigation Department Punjab in year 1995. Post retirement he was an active member in various social organization. He was also an active member of retirees officers Irrigation Department Punjab.
