103rd Foundation Day

Punjab Engineering College (PEC) commemorated its 102nd Foundation Day today, marking the commencement of its 103rd year in the distinguished presence of Chief Guest Madam Hargunjit Kaur (IAS), Secretary Technical Education. The event witnessed the participation of key dignitaries, including Prof. Baldev Setia, Director, PEC; Prof. Siby John, Deputy Director, PEC; Dr. Vasundhara Singh (Dean Faculty Affairs); Dr. Rajesh Bhatia (Dean Academic Affairs)Dr. Rajesh Kanda (Head ACIR); and Dr. Arun Kumar Singh (Head, SRIC).

The celebration commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Following the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Baldev Setia extended a warm welcome and felicitated Chief Guest Madam Hargunjit Kaur (IAS).

The proceedings unfolded with a comprehensive documentary highlighting PEC's historic legacy and recent research endeavors by the academic community. Dr. Rajesh Bhatia (DAA) then presented an overview of the institution's academic achievements, discussing various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, as well as the consistent increase in admissions each year. He also shed light on the facilities and opportunities provided to students for comprehensive skill and career development.

Dr. Vasundhara Singh (DFA) shared insights into the current faculty positions at the institute, emphasizing the expeditious and equitable recruitment processes. She expressed gratitude to the UT Administration and Director PEC Prof. Baldev Setia, acknowledging the faculty's collective efforts over the past 1.5 years. Dr. Singh also highlighted faculty welfare programs, individual achievements, and their significant contributions to PEC's legacy.

In his presentation, Dr. Arun Kumar Singh (Head, SRIC) provided an overview of various projects and research activities undertaken by faculty members and departments. He highlighted PEC's involvement in 5G Use Case Labs and its inclusion among the 31 Cohorts under the Semiconductor Mission of the Government of India.

Prof. Baldev Setia, Director of Punjab Engineering College, addressed the audience, extending a warm congratulations to all faculty members and PEC's global family on completing an illustrious 102 years of education rooted in creativity, values, and intellectual curiosity. He emphasized the institution's motto, "TRADITION WE TRUST, EXCELLENCE WE ENVISION," and highlighted achievements, collaborations with renowned institutions, and infrastructural developments.

Chief Guest Madam Hargunjit Kaur (IAS) congratulated the PEC family on reaching the significant milestone of 102 years. She expressed hope that, when PEC celebrates its 200th year, people will speak of it with pride and glory. Madam Kaur commended PEC for its heartwarming vibe, diverse activities, alumni legacy, and profound intellectual atmosphere. She wished all faculty members and students the best of luck for being associated with such a prestigious institute.
