PEC Centenary Lecture Series l Guest Speaker Prof. Mriganka Sur
Punjab Engineering College is thrilled to announce the fourteenth lecture as part of the ongoing PEC Centenary Lecture Series. To commemorate the centenary of Dr. Har Gobind Khorana, a Nobel Prize-winning Indian American biochemist, concurrent to the centenary of Punjab Engineering College, Professor Mriganka Sur, an eminent Indian Neuroscientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will be the chief guest for this honourable occasion.
Dr Har Gobind Khorana, a world-renowned Indian American biochemist was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1968 for his admirable work in the field of molecular biology.
PEC is exhilarated and proud to host Prof Mriganka Sur, Newton Professor of Neuroscience and Director of Simons Centre for the Social Brain at MIT, which he founded after 15 years as head of the MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Presently, Prof Sur is a visiting Faculty Member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the IIT Madras. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of the UK, the National Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the World Academy of Sciences, and the Indian National Science Academy.
With much-held enthusiasm, we look forward to the new vistas of knowledge and wisdom in the continuous path of learning as Prof Sur speaks passionately about his experiences with Dr Har Gobind Khorana at MIT as well. He will introduce us to the new era of technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
